Construction Impacts Access to Welia Health–Hinckley

August 2, 2024  /   Press Releases  /   3-minute read

Updated: August 2

Welia Health-Hinckley is advising patients and visitors of potential traffic delays due to the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Hinckley Bridge Replacement Project. This multi-phase project may impact access to our facility in both the short and long term.

Hinckley ramp update

The northbound I-35 on and off ramps at Hwy 48 will remain closed through August 9 due to work delays. During the closure, motorists can access Hinckley via a detour on Hwy 61. Southbound ramps at Hwy 48 will remain open.

Traffic will continue travelling on single-lane, head-to-head pattern through the fall. Motorists should expect delays during peak weekend travel times.

Detour information

For those approaching Hinckley on I-35 from the south, please use the following detour:

  • Exit at Highway 23 (St. Croix Scenic Byway) before Hinckley.
  • Turn left onto Highway 23.
  • Turn right onto Old Highway 61.
  • Turn right onto Old Hwy 61 spur/Fire Monument Road.
  • Turn right again at Morris Avenue.
  • Turn left onto Sandy Lane.

Please anticipate delays, especially during peak weekend travel times.
